About Us
Twenty years of listening carefully
Lamka Labs is a small transcription practice with more than fifty years of combined experience across the team. Most of what we handle is the audio other services would rather not take.
We take fewer files than we could
Transcription businesses usually scale by adding volume and thinning review. We have chosen the opposite constraint: we cap what we accept so that a senior reviewer can put real attention on every file. It means we occasionally turn work away, and we would rather do that than return a transcript we would not sign our own name to.
It also means the person who handles your matter tends to keep handling it. You are not routed to whoever is free, and you are not writing to a support queue.
What experience actually changes
Knowing when a word is wrong
The audio is clear enough to type, but only experience tells you that what sounded like a name was a drug, a statute, or a policy number.
Knowing the format
Certificate pages, exhibit conventions, minute formats and coding-software output are learned once and then done correctly every time.
Knowing when to flag
The difference between a usable transcript and a liability is whether the uncertain passage was marked or quietly guessed at.
Knowing what a deadline costs
We commit to turnaround we can actually hold, and we say so in advance when a deadline is tight.

Who does the work

Thangminlian “Min” Khooptong
Founder & Lead Transcriptionist · 13+ Years
General, legal, insurance, business, medical and media transcription; verbatim and clean-read editing; time-coded captions; multi-speaker and difficult-audio files.
Min founded Lamka Labs after more than a decade of hands-on transcription work across legal proceedings, insurance investigations, medical dictation, corporate meetings, and media interviews. He oversees every project at the quality-control stage and personally handles the files that need extra attention: multiple overlapping speakers, heavy accents, poor audio, or strict formatting requirements. His workflow combines Express Scribe, Descript, Otter, and Audacity to get the cleanest possible first pass before human review, and he is the person clients reach when a deadline is tight or a transcript needs to be exactly right.

Paulalmuan Guite
Senior Transcriptionist · 15+ Years
Court reporting, depositions, arbitrations, hearings and sworn statements; editing and proofreading; rapid, accurate turnaround.
Paulalmuan specializes in the formal, high-stakes end of transcription: court reporting, depositions, arbitrations, hearings, and sworn statements. With fifteen years in legal audio, he is comfortable with rapid speaker identification, exhibit references, certification pages, and the precise formatting conventions that law firms and court reporters expect. He types at 80 words per minute and brings a strong editing and proofreading discipline to every file, cross-checking names, dates, and terminology before anything is delivered.

Johnmuan Khuptong
Senior Transcriptionist · 20+ Years
Medical, insurance and legal transcription; specialized terminology; confidentiality and structured document formats.
Jon has spent more than twenty years working in medical, insurance, and legal transcription, often on the complex files where specialized vocabulary and confidentiality matter most. He is familiar with medical terminology, insurance claim language, and the structured formats required by healthcare and legal clients. His experience shows in how he handles ambiguous passages: he flags rather than guesses, and he knows when a term needs verification against context or reference material rather than being typed and hoped for.
